Their names are AIDAaura, Columbus, Deutschland and "Mein Schiff" and they stand for wanderlust, yearning, the lightness of being – three expressions which are closely linked to cruises. At the Hamburg Cruise Days 2010 old and young will be able to get up close to the "big tubs" at the Hamburg habour. For the first time also the AIDAluna and Mein Schiff will be a part of the maritime event. The Cap San Diego will even be offering the chance to go on taster cruises.
Kick off for the gala will be on Friday night with the Cruise Night, when numerous party ships will turn the river into a party zone. After that, the best thing might be not going to bed at all, but letting the night fade out on Saturday morning on the Elbe. From seven o’ clock on you can witness the cruise ships every half an hour coming up the river and watch them docking between the terminal at the HafenCity and the new Cruise Center 2.
The highlight of the ship parade is scheduled for Saturday night: the great Bon Voyage Parade accompanied by a light show!
Hamburgs famous light-artist Micheal Batz will once again illuminate the whole area, creating a magical "blue port", which already delighted hundreds of thousands of visitors during the Hamburg Cruise Days 2008.
