Submarine: U-434

It once served the Russian navy as a spy submarine, now it’s berthed in Hamburg as a museum submarine.

Tours are possible all year round. In addition to a fascinating insight into the amazing technology and behind the scenes of the Cold War there are also changing exhibitions on maritime history.

There are also sufficient catering facilities to fill hungry mouths. The former spy submarine, which was also specially developed for submarine hunting, has the following ‘vital statistics’: length: 92 metres, width: 9 metres, height: 14.60 metres, submersion depth: max. 500 metres, performance: 18000 bhp (diesel-electric motors).
