With a length of 300 metres and a width of up to 100, the SNOW DOME on the Lüneburger Heide is the widest ski hall in the whole of Europe. The hall's designers dispensed with supporting pillars in the interior, choosing to mount the ski lifts below the hall ceiling, so for the first time skiing can be enjoyed indoors without any obstacles on the slopes.
Besides the ski hall itself (which measures a massive 23,000 square metres), the architects' plans placed a major emphasis on the catering facilities. The moment they enter the ski arena, visitors feel as if they are on a winter holiday: a big bar area in modern Alpine design invites skiers and snowboarders to put their legs up after their exertions. A stylish à la carte restaurant, a rustic ski hut and a cosy Almstube nook offer delicious after-ski specialities for you to enjoy.
There is no charge for admission to the catering area or to the parties.
It goes without saying that you can hire from the SNOWDOME everything you need to go tearing down the slopes – skis, snowboards, zipflbobs, ski trousers and jackets for the complete winter outfit. Top brands represented include Atomic, Burton and The Limit. The SNOW ACADEMY offers skiing courses at every level.
Beginners have a slope set aside for them, where they can make their first slaloms under the supervision of qualified skiing and snowboarding instructors. Advanced professionals can learn new techniques on the big slope.
Those who are uncertain about venturing on skis or snowboards can enjoy themselves at the Bispingen SNOW DOME on the tobogganing slopes with zipflbobs and tubes. In summer, moreover, this is where you will find the only indoor rink in the north for skating and curling.
