Nightlife & fishmarket
"Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins..." (Along the Reeperbahn during night at half past twelfe...), used to sing 1954 the German singer and actor Hans Albers about the legendary mile of sin" Nowadays the lively place just next to the Reeperbahn where locals, tourists and prostituts crosses their pathes is called after him.
Apart from the disreputable neighborhood, where along the Reeperbahn and the famous "Grosse Freiheit" discos, bars and strip shows are lined up, there are also other trendy spots to discover like the Schanzen neighbourhood. There you find lots of little fancy bars and pubs which invites night owls for a cosy stay.
A legendary end of a party night is a visit to the Hamburg fish market. Some people might grab a fish sandwich for their trip home while others continue their celebration on the dance floor of the fish auction hall.
