The route of the Vattenfall Cyclassics, one of the worlds most valued and most successful cycling races, goes straight through Hamburg’s center.

Every summer, since the debut in 1996, pro cyclists of the world’s 20 most prominent teams gather to start in the Cyclassics. 

In turn this race has become the only one in Germany to be included in pro-cycling’s highest category the UCI ProTour. Next to the pro-races there will be age-group-races for recreational athletes on a range of 55km, 100km and 155km to choose from. Not only do age group athletes - adding up to 20,000 annually - take the same 243.2 km route which the pros take, but also do they benefit from the fascinating atmosphere which is created by more than 800,000 enthusiastic spectators throughout the city.

Routing is arranged in slight variations each year, but some distinctive points are always included. Starting on "Steinstraße" and finishing on "Mönckebergstraβe" - the famous shopping street in Hamburg - are both just as much traditional elements as the Waseberg (popular hill) in Blankenese. This makes the Cyclassics the only ProTour one-day-race, that concludes in the center of a major city – don't miss it!
