Der Weg dorthin war jedoch mühsam: Wie viele trans* Männer in Norwegen bis 2016, wurde auch Sindre zwangssterilisiert. So blicken die „tre fedre“ nicht nur hoffnungsvoll nach vorn, sondern – im Ringen um Anerkennung für Sindre – auch schmerzvoll zurück.

And strictly speaking, not just the three of them, because Sindre is pregnant. But their family journey has been arduous: like all trans men in Norway until 2016, Sindre was forced to undergo sterilisation to have his gender legally recognised. The “tre fedre” not only look to the joy of the future, but also to the pain of the past as they struggle for recognition for Sindre.
